Friday Favorites {3.31.17}

An extra happy Friday to you today! Why extra you may ask? Well, this teacher is officially on spring break!

To kick off an entire 9 days off, I'm sharing a few Friday Favorites with you today! As always, I'm linking up with Erika, Narci and Andrea!

One thing that I just can't get away from is OPI's Mod About You nail polish. This color has been on my toes for an entire year or so. Usually, I'm not a huge light pink fan, but this color is perfect in every way!

Yesterday I shared my monthly book review, and had some great recommendations for you all! This month I read 4 great books, and one that was just meh. That seems to be the trend so far this year too!  If you missed this post, you can find it here!

Stella & Dot Navy/Red Medallion Getaway

In honor of spring break and my travel plans this weekend, I thought I would share an oldie but goodie! I bought this Gataway Bag a few years ago and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it for travel. Depending on the length of your flight and/or need for activities, this bag is perfect. You can either keep it zipped and compact, or expand it for extra room! Disclaimer: They no longer have this pattern, but they do have a very similar blue Ikat pattern. You need this bag ASAP!

March Book Review {2017}

Happy Thursday, everyone! Since tomorrow is Friday Favorites, I thought I would share my books from March!

I've kept the ball rolling with having read another 5 books this month! I'm so happy that I'm still carrying out this goal according to plan!

So true, friends. So true.

Let's get started, shall we?

The first book that I read this month was one that I've heard mixed reviews about. I love Laine Moriarty, but have heard that this book falls short of expectation. The back is quite deceiving actually. The back gives all kinds of author praise, leading you to believe that this book is highly rated, when in fact, the praise is actually for her most popular book.  Truly, Madly, Guilty wasn't a bad book, it just was a big disappointment in comparison to her others. I felt almost annoyed that I couldn't through the book quick enough to find out what happened at the barbecue.

Truly, Madly, Guilty is about two couples who attend a neighbor's barbecue only to have an unspeakable tragedy happen there. The entire book recounts the days leading up to the main event, and what happened "at the  barbecue."

I give this book a 3.5 out of 5

A book that I was very excited about this month was Behind Closed Doors. I must be into thriller books lately, because I can't get enough of them. Although I don't know anyone personally who has read this book, I really enjoyed it and would happily recommend it to others!

Behind Closed Doors is about a seemingly perfect husband and wife. All of their friends envy their strong, model of a household. Not only is the flawless front that Jack has put on for everyone, not  reality, but the truth is downright terrifying!

I give this book a 4 out of 5

The Lucky Few was just as good as I had anticipated. I have been following the Avis family since college, and have watched their beautiful family grow from three, to four, and then five. Their infertility and adoption story is so inspirational, even for those not currently in the same situation. Their positivity and courage is incredible and those three babies are so lucky to have parents like Heather and Josh.

I give this book a 4.5 out of 5

I couldn't be more excited to read the final book of Elin Hildebrand's trilogy! I read the first in January, second in February and then the third this month! I'm not sure what it is about these books, but I literally breeze through them in a matter of hours! They're SO good! The weather here in GA has been amazing, but we had a random cold snap a few weeks ago. I'm convinced it's because I was totally channeling Nantucket in the winter time. :)

What do health scares, prison release, relationship drama, weddings and missing soldiers have in common? They're all members of the Quinn family trying to come together for yet another Christmas season. Will they get the news that they've been waiting for, for three years? Will Ava finally choose someone to love? All of those questions are answered in Winter Storms!

I give this book a 4 out of 5

My last book of the month was a bit of a motivator in all areas of life!

Life so easily gets us down, and sometimes you just need a little push back onto the path of positive thinking. Jen Sincero's writing in this book makes you feel like you have a girlfriend opening the shades, pulling you out of bed and slapping those excuses right out of you. She offers so many great points about how we come to be who we are, and how if you don't like who you've become (or have small parts that need tweaking), she shows you how to get past those things to move forward. This book was a great motivator and puts you back in the drivers seat in your life.

I give this book a 4 out of 5

Those are my five books this month! I'm ready for a new month to bring some more great books. I already have one picked out for the plane this Sunday, but other than that, I need suggestions for others! Any other good books that you've read lately?

If you missed by previous book reviews, and need some ideas for yourself:

Friday Favorites {3.24.17}

Wahoo!! I didn't think this week would ever end. I'm so ready for the weekend and I know you are too.

Today I'm linking up with Erika, Narci, and Andrea to share some Friday Favorites!

I picked up this adorable from Nordstrom last week. On the hanger it kind of looks like a potato sack, but it looks adorable on! It comes in five colors and is super affordable!

I posted about this top last week, but wanted to show you what it looked like on. This is the perfect outfit for a fun lunch with your friends or a spring break in Miami. Wink wink.

This top is a new one from this week. It's so effortlessly cute and so comfortable. I'm loving the cross pattern in the front!

Here's that romper that I referenced last week! I've paired it with a super cute bralette so that I'm not hanging out all over the place. Absolutely in love with this outfit and can't wait to wear it out!

The weather has been very off and on lately. One day it might be sunny and hot and then cold the next. On the warmer and sunny days, I'm loving sitting on the screened-in porch with a good book and delicious tea! Also, how amazing is this mug from The Sister Studio?! You need one ASAP!

I hope everyone has the best weekend, and I'll see you all next week!

Friday Favorites {3.17.17}

It's that time again, friends! The weekend is upon us and I have some great favorites to share with you!

As always, I'm linking up with Erika, Andrea, and Narci.

I've recently peeked an interest in Teavana tea. Last weekend, while shopping with my mom, we stopped into Teavana with all types of questions about brewing tea how to start. The most helpful woman told us about their super popular Perfectea Maker. In my opinion, this is such a good deal! For $30, you get the loose tea brewer, rock sugar, and a tin to keep your tea fresh. We were instantly hooked. We got an awesome variety pack of tea, and left some super happy campers!

I'm going to have to add this romper to my favorites next Friday as well, once I buy a nice bralette! I bought this amazing romper from my new favorite boutique, Nana Macs! It is the most amazing and quality material, that I almost feel like I'm stealing it from them. Once I buy a bralette to match, I'll take a picture in mine to show you all.

If you know me, you know that when I go on a vacation, I have to literally buy a whole new wardrobe because I hate wearing the same ol' ordinary items on a fun trip. I've been on the hunt for some distressed white jeans and I may have found the most perfect pair! These white denim jeans are not only super stretchy, but they also have some fringe at the ankle which is so in right now!

I loved them so much, I also ordered them in black! Note: the black are slightly more distressed and not fringed at the ankle.

Here are those same jeans again! This favorite is focusing on this ADORABLE off the shoulder top! You aren't going to believe's UNDER $25! I originally found this top from Jennifer over at The Sister Studio and had to have it!

On the hunt for some decent denim shorts, I stopped by Nordstrom last night and found these two GREAT pairs! I ended up buying both because I needed both dark and light pairs. The first pair are great in length in the back but slightly shorter in the front. I don't feel revealing in them though, and that's what's important. The second pair are perfect in every way! I'm wearing the lighter pair in the picture.

First pair here / Second here

I feel like I have so much more to share, but I think that I'll save some others for another day. Like I said, I'm going to try and get some pictures in these items so that you can see them on.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! See you next week.

Show and Tell Tuesday: Embarrassing Moments

Happy Tuesday, friends!

What happened to our beautiful spring weather? It has been so cold and rainy here, and I'm not happy about it at all!

On a happy note though, it's Tuesday and time for a Show and Tell blog post!

If you're new here, Show and Tell Tuesday is link up with Andrea from Momfessionals to share various parts of our lives. Here are all of the awesome topics discussed throughout 2017.

I'll start off by saying that I am not easily embarrassed, so coming up with an embarrassing moment was difficult!

The only thing that comes to mind requires us to rewind back to me as an awkward 9th grader trying to find my place in a new high school, in a new town. All 9th graders were required to take a health/exercise class where we had to go run on the track everyday. So one particular morning, my friends and I were trying to impress a cute upperclassman. We were obviously paying too much attention to him, and not enough attention to where we were walking.

I literally ran right into a hurdle that was in the middle of the track and flipped right over it. As if it wasn't bad enough that I looked very clumsy, everyone else thought that I purposely tried to hurdle the hurdle, and failed epically.

It looked an awful lot like this, although it was one hurdle and I wasn't intended to be anywhere near it.

That memory lived on through the rest of high school and I never lived it down. Back then, things like that are the most awful thing that could happen, and now it's such a good laugh.

What about you all? What is your most embarrassing moment.

Friday Favorites {3.10.17}

Happy Friday, Friends!

I'm so ready for the weekend to be here! On the agenda is some grad school work, shopping with my mom, and a whole lot of relaxation. Can I get an amen?

As always, I'm sharing some of my favorite things today.

I shared these wedges on Tuesday, but I wanted you to be able to see the black. I purchased these wedges and they are ADORABLE! So far, they're super comfy and go with just about anything. Love, love, love them!

Please excuse the messy bedroom back there! In looking around for some new things for Miami, I definitely needed a new bathing suit coverup! I love this white and navy ombre one that I found at Francesca's. They don't sell it online, so you'll have to go look in stores to find it. It's super flowy and perfect for the beach!

These haven't arrived at my house yet, but I'm so excited to get them! There is a new online boutique that I'm completely obsessed with. The only problem is that so is everyone else, and their products sell out quickly. These adorable sandals were out in my size for the longest time, but were just restocked! You should have seen how fast I was ordering them. Their website says that they fit try to size, and i'll confirm once they come!

Find them here

I did a Fitbit Charge 2 review yesterday, and it's definitely one of my favorite things this week!

If you missed it, you can find it here.

That's all for this week! I hope everyone has the best weekend!
